Hallo from Tauranga, New Zealand.

Greetings. I have been made aware of this forum by a friend after we both went on an South African bird trip last December. I was born and bred in Holland and migrated to New Zealand in 1974. I had tropical finches in my younger years. I have an extensive aviary and breeding room set up but unfortunately the flights and cages are all empty. I sold my birds last August as I was travelling across Australia during September and October, followed immediately by a 6 week trip to south Africa. In April I am taking off to the Queensland finch convention and will than fly on to Msargaret River WA, pick up my 4 x 4 camper and disappear into the Kimberley's for a few months. I have registered to take part in the Gouldian count in Wyndham in September. We will have to see if the travel bug will have gone, otherwise the birds will have to wait a little longer.
I am fairly active on a Dutch bird forum and have done some translations for a Belgium specialist bird club as well as the European Serinus Society. I am currently translating the Rare Finch Conservation Group website, so please pay this site a visit and see what others are doing. cheers, Case
