Dont think it would be an easy task to hand tame an aviary GCC , mine will come to me and sit on the bowl as I feed them but that's as far as it goes .
You would be very brave to even attempt taming an aviary bird as they have a bite on them , I'm talking stitches not just a nick in the skin.
Baby GCCs are available at the moment and if you wanted one as a companion then the best way to avoid disappointment would be to get a hand reared baby.
They are curious , a bit noisy and a bit hypo , they love attention so may be a bit time consuming but you will get a nice little pet as a reward .
They eat heaps and I mean heaps and require a LOT of fresh fruit and vegies daily .
They sleep in their nest box so will need some type of box or one of those bird huts to sleep in .
They love to take a bath , chew branches , play with toys and enjoy an evening screaming session before they roost .
Very charismatic little bird they are.

They are very demanding , if mine dont get fed first each day they jump up and down on the perches and scream blue murder , even though I plan on handrearing them I dont know if I would want one as an indoor bird , and thats coming from a Corella owner .

I would not purchase conures, they are lovely but they are noisy, sometimes aggressive and need a very varied diet.
Good luck. I for one would leave them to the professional (and the rural!!

)

I would much rather see people buying a GCC, MBC or Pearly conure than for example an Eclectus. Most of the more intelligent parrots are demanding. As for noise the GCC are a great deal quieter than the Suns, Nandays, etc.
I have a mate that has both Princess parrots and Green cheek conures. 12 pairs of Princess and 6 pairs of Green Cheeks. Would you believe that the Princess easily make more noise and are louder? I am not kidding.
