i put the breeding boxes in the the aviary and i have a pair that breed before they are resteblishing there box the male would do his thing checking the box and calls the female but the other male come to the box and tries to chase of the the female but the female gets him to retreat but he continues to do it.
what should i do?
i need help

If you want Quarrions to pair off then they have to be in a aviary by themselves else its a free for all.

because he wants to be with the female you took out .... thats his chosen mate for this mating at least .

I thought they mate for life, he did with the female back in november he does the same thing now but i am going to give them time

No the old saying that all birds mate for life is totally untrue . They will choose who they want to breed with , if you want to control the breeding as I do because of colour compatibility then you need to have 1 pair per aviary .

You really need to let them decide who they want to breed with if you have a colony situation happening , they have their reasons for choosing the bird they want to mate with .

Removing hens and swapping and changing the dynamics of the aviary is going to lead to such problems as egg bound hens . The birds dont know if they are Arthur or Martha when you keep taking them out and putting them back.

Each time you put a bird back it has to find its place in the pecking order which as you can imagine is stressful .

the pair that breed last year was mating this mourning, so i belive that they do mate for life
