How would a pair of Princess Parrots go with 1 pair quarrion and 1 pair bourkes in a 3x3 m aviary ?
Can anyone think of any other parrots apart from neophemas that can fit in ?
Thanks

Princess parrots do seem to be fairly placid.Ive seen them mixed with the types of birds you mentioned without a drama and finches in large aviaries.I know many wouldnt recommend it but as long as you keep an eye on them i wouldnt be too frightened.I saw some in Adelaide recently, about 4 pair, budgies, cockatiels all in a smallish aviary and i was suprised how tolerant all the birds were given the lack of space.I threw in a photo for ya.Sorry i went mad on the weekend. You need 3m aviaries to fit the tail in,geez i cant work out why such a huge tail.

Nice photo D/ birds , correct me if I'm wrong but they are native to your neck of the woods aren't they ?
Yeah that long tail makes me think bigger aviary too , 1 pair however in an uncrowded 3 x 3 should be OK ... Hmmm I do like to see parrots fly so maybe Ill keep looking for something smaller .
As you can see Im no good at making decisions

Another native that has too many mutations... but that's just me!
Hey DB, did you mean that photo was taken on the weekend? Is it a wild bird?
Cheers

Princess would work but consider that if they are green they would be diff to sell unless you want to hand raise them. Sell the Tiels and Bourkes and get a pair of Lime Princess. ;)

They would be for hand rearing Hammer , thats my enjoyment in bird keeping . Im not game to look at the prices of the mutations

and breeding colours would mean more aviaries .
Cant sell the Quarrions , 1 pair are my hand reareds and the other cost me a fortune to bring up from Vic . Id never get anough to cover what I paid for them .

No sorry mate i cheated and went on a photo shoot at work .Princess parrots Did send the twitchers into a bit of a frenzy last year but Central land council quickly got wind of wind of it and wouldnt issue permits to go on to that bit of land.Another group did get permission to go out Lake Amadeus and they were spotted there as well.As jusdeb has previously stated shes not in birds for the money so if she could find pure birds why not ? Who knows pure ones may start to climb in value once they are get harder to find.
