I cannot believe how secretive Jacarini hens are. The cock bird will sit out in the sun doing calling and backflips all day and yet I have two hens that I rarely catch a glimpse of. A couple of days ago I spotted a fledgling for a split second and after searching high and low, managed to find a well concealed nest but couldn't find either hen or any fledgling(s). Looks like I'll have to wait until the grass is cut back in a couple of months to see how many I've got.

lol - yes Jacs are well known for hiding. Mind you, if you ever do an aviary clean out you may just find you have 10 more! They can breed and you wouldn't even know!
