Frog in aviary -MYSTERY SOLVED!

_Does anyone have any suggestions on how to flush a frog out of the aviary? we think one got in probably in a pot plant. It croaks (or whatever frogs do!) and upsets the quails which then start calling in alarm. We have had a look around but cannot work out where it is. Is there a way of coaxing it out somehow? Thank you for any suggestions.

A nice bit of pipe that he can crawl into perhaps? If he's one of your tadpoles I wouldn't think he'd be anywhere old enough to call till next year so it sounds like you've got a visitor.

We had neighbours frogs visiting a while back, it might be one of those. Except he was fairly big so not sure how we could miss him... Might try the pipe idea and see how it goes.

I'm a victim of a cane-toad in an aviary for over 6 months and they are damned hard to find. The damp pipe sounds a good idea but I don't have any suggestions it was a random fluke that got it in (again in a pot) and just a flute that I found it again as I'd swept the floor clean a few times and couldn't find it.
Good Luck

Turns out what I thought was a frog (and then 2 frogs...) ended up being the mating call of the two resident male quails!!!!

Never heard it before because the only other male (their father) has always had a mate. Question now is - how to make it stop??? it isn't the croak itself whcih is a problem, but the other male quail loud calls in response....should we lose one male and get the other one a mate? We wanted to avoid the onslaught of chicks... hence two boys in that aviary.

Possibly ditch the 2 cocks & get some othe type of quial, most aren't to noisy, but the Black Breasted Button Quail hens low booming can annoy some people. Maybe some Brown Quail, or Little Button Quail would be the go.

even the brown quail can be rather loud before breeding season....louder than the king quail.....pete
