Can anyone direct me to discussions re wild birds pestering Gouldians. I have a bird that sits on my aviary regularly and looks like it wants to attack the Gouldians. Bird looks similar to a Kookaburra but smaller, same long beak and colourings. Any suggestions on warning the bird off?

Small Kingfisher ,hmmm would think it would be after lizards and bugs and stuff , any thing like lights attracting small critters to the aviary that the King would be after .

Hard to tell from the description, But with the audacity and the determination I hate to say but it sounds like a Butcher Bird they are as the name suggests and a big problem.A shade cloth fly over your cage will help as a deterrent but if it is a Butcher Bird they are pugnacious. We have members with fake snakes, fake owls etc on their aviary's best of luck

Didnt think of a butcher bird .... yep they fit the profile of harassing small birds , sad thing is they dont give up and will often kill in time . Very persistent .
Can you get a photo up to be sure ? Some birds are just sticky beaks and wont do too much harm apart from maybe startling the birds others are after a feed .
