 Every body else has posted their eggcitement at hatchlings and first time success so I thought I'd join in.

I've had a shocking run since getting Gouldians for the first time at Christmas. One dead cock (a DF Euro yellow with a blue breast who I had hoped might be the start of a new mutation being developed, he was a bit off colour when I got him in retrospect and he never recovered) and 3 dead overnight with head bruising and broken necks over a 10 day period (#*&$#@^% neighbours cats  ). It got to the point where my two had become six and back to four coz I could no longer afford to keep replacing dead ones quite apart from availability at this stage of the breeding season.

My RF LB DF Euro yellow cock and his normal hen went down a while ago but never hatched the eggs (one clear, one dead in shell). This time success from them, 4 young and two eggs still to hatch. Three are very light pink skinned with white nodules and one appears to be a bit darker and possibly blue nodules.

Excellent news, more excitement when they get that first coloured feather.
