nest take over (are they killing chicks?)

found a dead orange breast chick yesterday, the pair of african fires are payin alot of attention too the oranmge breast nest
now the AF hen is sittin in there , the chicks that i can see r still alive in there and the male is stoppin the parents gettin back into the nest..

are they killing them or r they feeding the young i dont know....

solutions?

1. try and catch the AF's and put them in another cage?
2. take nest out and try hand raise chicks?
3.?

any info will b greatly apreciated thanks

I would take the AF pair out and watch to see if the OB pair continue to care for the chicks. If they dont its up to you if you want to try and tackle hand raising. Good Luck!

yeh thats what im guna do i recon, problems doin there aint much room for movin about in the aviary with plants n stuff and there a few more nest boxes in there with young in them, so dont wanna disturb them either

can only giv it a shot i suppose, even if i can get one out now and one latrer or sumfin

had too take the nest out, have made up water with egg and biscuit and they r eating that
