Found this on the internet, would certainly help in an emergency until you could get the commercial product.

250ml of warm water
half a teaspoon of sugar
half a teaspoon of salt
an 8th of teaspoon of bicarb (or good pinch)
Mix well
Can be kept in the fridge for a few days.

Just giving this a whirl. Got all flustered and paranoid cause my little hen was sitting on the floor... but i think she was just.. enjoying the sun maybe. It's ridiculous, there are about 6 pet stores in my area and none of them keep Spark. Not even the store I work at! Going to order some off the net now.

Hi, I use gatorade from time to time. Use it as a substitute for Spark. Have also used it in standard drink water to mask the tast somewhat of some fo the worming agents I use. Birds seem to enjoy and wont swim in the water either as it makes them all sticky.

I should have also said that I use the powdered form and use about a 3/4 teaspoon to a litre of water. Works magic for me.
