Well I finally sucked it up and swallowed that lump of pride in my throat , got in the car and proceeded to make my way to the NPWS office here in Dubbo .

Got a park close enough to be a comfortable walk then just sat there , yep couldnt do it . Memories of how angry they made me last time I dealt with them came rushing back and that lump of pride swelled till I couldnt swallow any more .

Not happening this week I guess . Maybe those Red Brows and Purple Crown Lorries just arent meant to be .

Oh well plan B , yes theres always a plan B .

do it Deb - you won't regret it!

I've dealt with the guys from the Bathurst office numerous times and have always found them to be very good.

And yes, like everyone else I have heard of some horror stories about NSW NPWS staff - but my own dealings have been fine.

Download a form & send it off to head office, no dealing with the local office then, they may want to come & inspect before they issue a license, but because you've already held one, I don't see a problem.

Inspection should be fine only thing I would have to do is hide the patch where I feed the wild birds old seed , apparently that's a no no .

I assume you have problems with them? is it just the local ones..I hear varied accounts of National parks staff and I recall someone else here saying they were realy glad to have sold off the last of their licenced birds so they dont have to deal with them anymore :wtf:
Its a real shame if they are hasseling people to that extent unless they are being cruel to the birds or something..I often think it can be like the tax office a few years ago I found although I had ticked the box that I owed hex fees my employer had not taken them out ..I rang the taxoffice to try and arrange to fix up my debt and got this absolute ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' who basicly made it clear how much power she had and what fines/jailcould be imposed!!! I was so upset .The next day I tried again and the man who answered listened politely and said it was no problem to arrange time to pay and was perfectly resonable and thanked me for ringing and sorting out....such a difference in who you get on to

Its about red tape and an over due record book and their lack of action with birds I admitted to having bought from an unlicensed breeder ...my point, worry more about the birds and not the stinking $30 per year .

I will get another license one day, in the meantime I will be learning and getting ready for that class 2 license.

no a normal license is easy to get , basically pay the $$$$ and fill in the form .
Dont let me turn you off getting one . Threatened birds need people to breed them , you never know when aviary birds will be needed to replenish wild stock .
If they ever get their heads out of their bottoms and research how to do it properly :D
