Are you 100% sure they are a pair? or were they sold to you as a pair? Two years they should have nested by now.

I bought a pair this year and gave them cup nests but they never even considered them. The first nest was built in a busted up cane finch nest basket tied into a tee tree, nest made of coconut fibre and raw natural cotton. They hatch the two eggs and then it rained, mum left the nest albeit after battling the weather, but self preservation kicked in. They then built in a brush column and layed two eggs, hatched one and fledged it. They love fresh green panic and will touch up the crimson finches for it, but over all they are very peacful to anything not yellow - that is they are chasing yellow hooded siskins that get close to the young.

Ok well I think I will try a few different things when I get this cage up and running. I might even purchase a new pair before then and try with them...

I have 4 pairs of Green SIngers, i do not have trouble getting them to breed and lay eggs, but i do have trouble getting the babies to come out of the nest, had heaps of bad luck along the way.
I now have 1 pair who have laid 3 eggs in one of the small silver coop cups. all 3 eggs hatched. 1 baby died now there are 2 left and i think they are about 3 or 4 days from leaving the nest. This is my 2nd year breeding these birds, last year i bred 1 baby, this year these are my first 2. I'm hoping to do better.
