Over the past week or so it has been fairly damp in Sydney and unfortunatley a small part of the avairy floor got wet and as a result seed has started to sprout in the sand/seed waste that covers the concrete floor. It looks great, a nice green carpet about 25mm tall in this particular area and the birds are paying a bit of attention to it and still consuming their daily dose of dandelion leaves. The substrate is not boggy, just moist and normlly dries in 3 or 4 days and this has not happended before. Question: Will the birds eating the green shoots gain any benefit or will it be detrimental to them or should I just let it be?

the greens themselves should be fine, but I would be worried about worms in the damp area... best to see if you can fix that for next time, and keep a close eye on 'em
