I had 3 White headed nuns fledge out of the nest this week,pretty excited as I have not had the nuns that long.

Thats another 3 to help maintain the species is Australia. This pair may go down to nest again in about 3-4weeks (not sure how they will go in the cold). Keep them happy and they will reward you by breeding.

at least the RFS is working with the species to help maintain numbers

Here is a shot of my 3 young white headed nuns that fledged last week.There is a new nest in the avairy so hopefully they will go down again soon before it gets to cold.See how long it takes for them to colour up.

Congratulations. Great to see someone succeeding with these guys. I see you have 6 adults. Do you run them in an avairy all to themselves? As that is what it looks like.

That shot was taken in the corner of the aviary.Yes I run 3 pairs in the one aviary to their self.I used in have them in a mixed collection,no sucess,so I moved them into there own.2 months later 3 young.I feed them finch mix,red panicum seed on its own,plenty of greens.

congrats on the fledglings, hope you manage to get a few more.

thats great,they are lovely looking birds but I have read in a couple of books they are nearly imposible to breed in captivity.It seems to me once finchs breed though they keep at it for a couple of clutchs so hopefully
