From what I have read in this series of books:
My favourite is:
A Guide to Colour Mutations and Genetics in Parrots

Followed closely by two of Danny Browns books:
A guide to Pheasants and Waterfowl
A guide to Pigeons, Doves and Quail

And
A guide to Gouldian Finches

I thought “A guide to Asiatic Parrots and their mutations” was lacking, the same with “A guide to pet & Companion Birds”

I am yet to read four of the series:
Australian Grassfinches
Lories and Lorikeets
Zebra Finches
Eclectus Parrots

They're to b****y expensive.
I'd have them all if they didn't cost between $30-$80 each, for a book 1cm thick!!!
I think the information in them is great, but they are waaaay overpriced.

I'm not saying anything about the publisher, in fact i will be contacting Sheryll tonight about getting our book published (that's right guys - they're interested!!!) the people I'm talking to will know what I mean ;)

Anyway my favourite is pigeons doves & quail by Danny Brown, followed by "a guide to companion parrots", which I scored on ebay (worth $28 or something, bought for $3 in very good condition).

I disagree Jayburd,

I think ABKs books are reasonably priced. Remember that they appeal to a limited market and that Sheryll does all the publishing herself.
There aren't too many bird books containing first hand information on specific birdkeeping topics that are relevant to Australian conditions.
Anyway, if you keep looking on e-bay I'm sure you'll find good copies at a reduced cost.
By the way, I agree that Danny's books are amongst the best written anywhere on those species covered ( ie pheasants, waterfowl, pigeons/doves and quail).

Buy them secondhand- works out cheap. If I had to pay new retail price on any of the more expensive guide books I probably wouldn’t have them in my collection.

Followed by Lorries and Lorikeets and then Cockatiels ,

Next on the list is Mutations in Parrots , the cheapest I can find is $70.00 .

Although I no longer keep cockatiels, the ABK Cockatiels and their Mutations book was well worth it and is still in my collection.

Yes it sure is I have both the old one somewhere and the new revised one .
Forgot I also have the Neophemas and Grass Parrots one which Ive read to death .

I have the revised edition of the gouldian finch , but I think that has been revised yet again , have revised edition on grass parrots, Australian grass finches, have red Danny s one , borrowed it from the local library will buy it when i get the time , libraries are the best place to start if you like it , you will buy it garentted to keep going back to the book if you got it...pete

have read pretty much all of them over the years foundthem pretty interesting. got afew from a 2nd hand book shop for $5 each but have read them at work love worken for a bird shop all the books
