I would like to know if blue maw seed is the same as poppy seed, paying $7.50kg for maw seed when my brother told me he can get poppy seed for next to nothing, and what about sesame seed is it good to give it my finches- is it classed as an oily seed because I can get it for free.

G'day Danny, yes maw seed is a poppy seed. Like all high oil seeds (approx 50% inn this case ) feed in moderation. Sesame is also in the same league, little and often rather then a free for all as a treat if your birds will eat it.

Mainly for my siskins, thanks trilobite need to know because didn't want to get those types of seed when they wouldn't be good for them.
