Hi Shanny
Mice (firstly) ate almost my entire collection - 2 red faced parrot finches, 2 cordons, etc. etc.
they pollute seed and water with their droppings
they disturb nests at night which can cause abandonment or worse they might eat the eggs and/or chicks.
They attract cats, owls, butcherbirds and other predators not averse to a small avian snack
worse still - they might attract rats. They will eat all your birds, and in general do what mice do only much worse.
They are also bloody difficult to eradicate!!
hope that helps

Make sure your containers have tight lids and if possible put something heavy like bricks on top of them... also make sure they are sturdy so they can stand up against nibbling little teeth

Their pees and poos can harbour some nasty bacterias , certainly not something you want to have your pets coming into contact with or yourself for that matter , so be sure to wash your hands after changing the traps.
