How long Can a bird stay in a Carry Cage?

I have a small cage about 60x20x60 and, although my cage isn't fully ready yet (It should be finished by like, Tuesday), I was wondering if I could go to the Rose Hill Sale tomorrow, and keep the birds in the small cage (Inside the aviary, it should be done by the end of tomorrow, with wire and stuff, but it will be much harder to bring in perches and branches when you have to worry about birds aswell) untill the mid-week. They won't be near people, but they will be confined... Will this stress them out too much?

Also, my wire is only 12.5mm wire, does this stop me from getting any of the smaller finches (Orange-breasteds, Adavats ect.)

Thanks!

Be patient . Why not finish it then buy birds ? Plenty of good breeders on the forum so take your time, finish it, get it all set up then purchase what you want. The 12.5mm wire should be fine with smaller finches. I wish i took my own advice on the patience thing as it can lead to impulse buying and not ending up with good unrelated young birds to breed from, also you will look in a few months time and ask why did i buy those .

I would be very careful about the smaller finches with that wire. Not because they could get out, but because they could half get out and injure themselves getting back.

Also, young mice can go straight through the 12.5mm squares, so you will have to keep up with your control measures.
