My Dad had them many years ago. Wild caught/trappers licence. 1 pair in an avairy about 1.2 x 3.4 floor. They were kept with a couple of pairs of weerios from memory and treated much like king quail.

I used to have them. A bit more flighty than king quail and need a good hidey spot. Less likely to brood successfully was my experience but no dramas to keep. If you want them to breed they need a big clump of grass (live) or a hay bale or two to hide behind. Not as flighty as the Tenix species I believe and therefore less likely to damage to other birds or themselves (they prefer to run and hide rather than flap everywhere in panic).

Go for it, should be more of them in breeders' aviaries I reckon.

Any other quail in there??? You have plenty of space but they should be the only quail as the males get a bit stroppy. They are quite shy and you may not see much of them.
