Hi anyone going to Ballarat sale on Saturday, if you have a pond consider getting some live trout from around the corner before the bird sale , they are extremely cheap as it is a volunteer operation, I have had them before but they died when the temperature hit 45, but were great up until then and we ate some along the way.

Funnily enough the Ballarat Fish Acclimatisation Society was formed in 1870 and runs this hatchery and is still going strong.

I wonder if previous members were also members of the various Bird Acclimatisation Societies who gave us the Sparrow, Starling, Indian mynah etc?
