Been a bad day which now has me with 2 quite mature girls whom I dont wish to get mates for .
Ones a Red Rump very shy girl and the other a Scarlet very shy girl too ...Question is will they be OK to live out their days together in a aviary or large cage together .

Cant bring myself to do what a lot of breeders do , Id rather retire them as pets .

can't comment on compatibility as i know nothing about parrots, but i want to do the same thing; keep all my old breeding birds. i become attached, but i also don't want to sell old birds to anyone.

Yes this is why Im holding on to them Spanna , In my enthusiasm and naivety I have bought older birds (twice) . Could kick myself for being so dumb and will not be doing it to some other sucker .

Every now and then someone will ask if I have any birds that people can just buy and look at , if the right person comes along Ill part with them but otherwise they can just grow old and fat in comfort here .

The Lutino Red Rump looks more content already after just one afternoon on her own .

With enough space and no breeding I can't see why they couldn't he house together, I give you two thumbs up deb as I myself retire my old breeders after all the young they give thought that could he the least I do to stay at home and when ready move on to greener pastures.

Quite a few breeders of birds, various types have an "ANZAC's" cage. For you younguns that means "old soldiers"

Well they are eating together amd seem very relaxed , I guess Ill have to watch and see .
I cant see a problem if they dont go into breeding mode either . Fingers crossed.
