Just after a guesstimate please of prices for the following birds ( sale prices ).
Some for me some for another birdkeeper ....

All are breeding pairs or unrelated pairs ...

Normal Princess Parrots

Purple Crown Lorikeets

Mosaic Canaries

Blue Face Parrot Finches

And single bird prices for Grey Pied Red Rumps ( of very nice colour and size ).

Thats all and thank you

Can't comment on the Parrots as I haven't gone over to the other side.
Canaries vary greatly with demand creating the price.
Blue Faced Parrot Finches will vary from state to state. I sell my young birds for $50 a pair but have seen them much higher.
Just remember DON'T buy old birds as they are generally bred out by the end of their 3rd season

Thanks Eorix ... Ill be looking out for young birds even if I miss a breeding season .
I have had to rehome 2 pairs of impulse bought old birds and hopefully I wont ever do it again.

Hello Deb,
What kind of birds were the two pairs that you impulse bought?.

Thanks Nathan

From what I've seen around the traps lately you'd be doing very well to find a pure normal pair of Princess Parrots. Wouldn't have a clue as to their price though, sorry - I haven't strayed the parrot way for many years either despite being tempted a few times.

Have been looking for normals for quite a while without luck . Any Ive seen have been very small birds .
I have a contact who has found me a pair but I really want to be prepared to see them ie. price , colour and age .
Long lived birds are a big commitment hey , I want to get the best I can . I know I sound like a kid but I have been saving ( yes even birthday $$$) and doing without my hair colours and that new jumper I really wanted just to get 2 more breeding pairs of birds ( Princess and Purple Crowns ).

Nathan they were both Red Rumps neither have bred . The young birds I bought are all on eggs and one pair are on their 3rd clutch . Hate rehoming birds but aviary space is maxed out .

$50 a week ...can I come and live with you ?
Man I had the wrong parents , I didn't get pocket money ...didn't do without anything either . Still only cash I saw was from working in a fruit and veg shop at 14 and then Woolworths at 15 and going to skool . :D
