(I know, I am responding to pretty well a dead topic)
I have been offered some proper, pure Aberdeens just the other day, at $650 a pair
The person who has them breeds some very good numbers, and he said the other year he sent 46 birds, all pairs, over to WA, he must be doing very well
Of course he has a heap of spare cocks at $100 each, but hopefully I might get a pair or two in the future, and share a few with good breeders/mates at the local club
Thanks

There may be more than a touch of irony in that statement . .

You've seen these birds of course?

Hopefully you have seen these birds and in particular know what you are looking at. There is some pure birds still here in Aust' but there are also plenty of cut throat/aberdeen hybrids. Take your time with pics of pure one's from overseas before you take the plunge. In saying that,if they are hybrids at least we have something that looks a bit like an aberdeen but if they are hybrids they are way overpriced imo.

I have studied Aberdeen Finch pictures almost religiously, I have talked to people who have bought birds from the Breeder and they say they are the real deal
But of course, I will visit him before any money is handed and check if the rumors are true
If all goes well, because the QFS does their programs, I might chip in a couple birds to get them up in running
Thanks
