Im wondering is there a limit with the mini mealies per day?
I brought them for the orange breasts that want no part of them but the emblemas will try a few and possibly jacarinis and double bars have tried they go from that cage but there are a pair of emblemas.
The real pigs are the long tails they seem to want little else and ate over 100 tonight is that ok?

G'day amalan11, a once off like this wont do too much harm, if was daily then you will have issues as mealies are very high in fat and the calcium:phosphorus ratio is way out of balance. Fly maggots are more balanced so try and mix it up and use mealies as a treat or supliment rather then a mainstay

I feed my finches mealworm occasionally,
But all the finches I breed do not require live food to breed they just get it as a treat occasionally I feed them Chickweed, Milk thistle and hale ripe grass seeds every day instead.
Thanks Nathan
