Hey Nathan, thanks for posting some vids of your birds. Can i make a suggestion.? When you quarantine birds it might help if you dont have so many in one cage. I would suggest going for a cage that has a solid back and isnt so open.No offence to you but open cages with a few too many birds in there is very stressful on the birds.It almost defeats the purpose of quarantining them. That type of cage wire (in your bird room cage) is very easy for birds to get heads and wings caught in.

you have too many birds in the cage.

your perches are too big.

i wouldn't leave the cage on the floor or keep them in a room with no sunlight either.

What do you mean the purchase are to big?. And they get sunlight threw a window.

Look on the posts that are from sale days and you will see more appropriate cages, note that birds arent generally offered for sale in the type of cage you have.Maybe try something more like a cabinet rather than those open type cages.

Nathan, the only cage that I can use for quarantine is much the same as the one you have. What I do is fill the bottom with sand, put some Tea Tree backing against one side of the cage for cover and so they can have privacy, and then have two natural small branches for them to perch on normally (Along with food and Spark Water). I keep them in a room by themselves for most of the day backing against a window, so they get as much light as they can, and when there is minimal disturbance I take them out into the sun. My way isn't perfect, but it's the best I can do with the cages I have, and the cage you have.

I will buy a flight cage to quarantine my finches in.The finches are in there own room in the bottom story of our 3 story house and no one ever walks in there so they shouldn't get to stressed.

Nathan and NRG, you are both missing the point. This type of cage is not good for quarantining.You might as well throw the birds straight in the aviary (early morning ) and hope for the best.Nathan over crowding causes stress to finches even if there is no one going down there.Stress brings on illness and dead birds.
