Murphy's Law

Went to my monthly finch club meeting in Manila yesterday and wouldn't you know it; somone has imported some finches and here's me leaving in December! I don't think I would get them anyway for a couple of reasons that you'll probably agree with. What's come in are plum-heads, red-faced parrot finches, red-eared cordon blues and green singers. The cost is poisonously prohibitive (P25000/pr - AUD$560) so I don't see them getting many takers and unfortunately very few have the knowledge to breed any of them or they'd still be here from previous imports. Apparently this lot were smuggled in with a shipment of fighting cocks. Aussies should be so grateful with what's been maintained since the prohibition on imports.

Thats sad for the birds , they dont really have much chance of survival if no one has the husbandry skills to keep them .

$560 pair whoa. Shame on the mongrel smuggling these little birds.
