I have quite a few with half purple chests and the yellow racing stripes, there is always tiny feathers in the aviary. Non of the adults have started yet.

Ok good- Seems to be happening a bit earlier than previous years so naturally I was a bit worried.

My gouldian breeder mentor has always told me "Don't count your chicks until November" ie: after the moult. Adults admittedly do start to moult a little later but the problem I have this year is that my adults are still in prime breeding condition and still going to nest. Have three pairs with chicks in the nest at the moment. I want to clear the aviaries but am being hampered by this problem.

Noticed the odd feather on the ground. The other week thought I had noticed one or two pin feathers on an adults head but nothing else since. The young ones as very very very slowly colouring up... I went from the austerity diet to moulting diet but as not much has happened since I wonder if I did that too early and they are just going to get fat???
