I'm off to the USA next month for a few weeks - disneyland/legoland included. Are there any "not to be missed" bird/finch related sights in the LA/San Diego area?

After just having walked the 18th at Pebble Beach Golf Course, we returned to the car and saw a wild Hummingbird feeding on flowers....I will never forget it....amazingly small and very fast!

The hummingbirds all around Disneyland were amazing. It is incredible to watch them hover and fly. Very acrobatic

I can see myself getting into trouble with my dearly beloved and child - they're wanting to go on the rides and bloody Dad's just checking out the birds (hummingbirds only of course)!

We intend going to San Diego zoo, but does anyone know of any good finch aviaries or bird shops to check out?

Nah those humming birds would be good to see. Sounds like a great trip!
