Hi i have 4 owl finches (uk).

They are just finnishing up their first molt but i have not seen them singing at all yet. I have 1 pair per cage.

How long will it take for them to begin to sing?

Thanks

Havent had them for a few years but from what i remember they start trying to sing about 3 months of age. The hen makes a soft beep sound.

Howldaloom their song is really quiet, but its still enough to determine cock/hen bird.
They could be doing it and u havent heard them, that or u have a bunch of mother hens
At least u have 4 so theres a good chance u may have a pair :shh:

As been said above the cocks will sing 3 months onwards and breed at 5 months onwards which in my opinion is way to young to let them breed,if yo keep them all together for a week then separate them the cocks should sing..
