Near our house there is a park.
In that park there is a hole, and in that hole there are a pair of SPs building a burrow they keep flying in with beakfuls of nesting grass! I've taken some covert pics so I'll post them later!
I'm really excited! I just hope a local dog or cat doesn't get them
I hope so :0 they seem bold as brass, they just keep on flying up and down while I sit by my bike snapping away hopefully people will just think they're getting food or something.
They're such marvellous little birds my favourite australian species of bird
When I was a kid we had a pair nest in the bank in my parents garage, gorgeous little birds they only fledged one young though the stupid neighbours cat got the rest In another house we owned we had welcome swallows come back every year and nest in the roof beams of the garage, garage door was left open for them them the whole of the breeding season....another one of my favourite birds
