I don't think he is looking at the basket to nest in,possibly his area to display from.
Jacarinis build a small cup shaped nest generally quite low.
Mine use nearly all coconut fibre to construct their nest.

Here is an example of a jacarini nest, about 20cm off the ground. It was well hidden in this very small shrub. The nest is built entirely out if coconut fibre.

agree with e orix and tiaris, love coconut fibre and nest low in shrub. When nesting you wont see the hen, she becomes very secretive and hidden from all. hey jayburd dont you just love the song of the male in the evening.
