I think I am in trouble…

I currently have this aviary and we currently have 2 princess parrots, 2 elegant parrots, 2 bourkes parrots, 2 king quails, 2 chestnut breasted mannikins, 2 star finches, and 6 zebras.

After our first batch of zebras from the 3 pairs, (13 chicks in total!) my dad has decided he wants no more chicks because the aviary gets a bit crazy with zebras flying all over the place. So since then we have been removing the eggs as much as we can.

Around 5 weeks ago, there was two chicks in the nest, and another had 6 eggs. I forgot to remove the eggs, and two weeks later, we now have one chicks that has fledged (the other died :( ) and 5 chicks in the nest! Then there was another pair that had 6 six eggs (the pair with the fledged chick, the dad has to care for the chicks while the mum sits on the eggs) and hadn't gotten enough time to remove them because we had to go to a rally!

Those eggs have probably hatched by now… havn't told dad yet, but Im sure he will hear them soon enough!

Anyone interested in some Zebbies? :P

What are they nesting in? I use nest boxes so i can pull them out or you take one off the sexes out.

They are nesting in boxes, but unfortunately we both keep on forgetting to take the eggs out! But once all these chicks go, I am getting into 'egg' mode :P Especially since it can't be good for a hen to lay more and more eggs and raise chicks after chicks! How many clutches should a zebra be allowed to have during his/her lifetime? How many are healthy? Does anyone know?
