SOME INDIVIDUALS OF DUBIOUS CHARACTER ROBBED JUST BIRDS AND REPTILES IN CESSNOCK LAST NIGHT. AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE PROPRIETOR JOHN IT APPEARS TO HAVE BEEN WELL PLANNED . THE PERSONS WERE CAUGHT ON CCTV AND THE WHOLE BREAK IN TO LEAVING THE PREMISES ONLY TOOK 2-3 MINUTES . THEY STOLE A BLUE AND GOLD MACAW BUT WERE UNSUCCESSFUL IN ATTEMPTS TO STEAL OTHER BIRDS . IF YOU HEAR ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THIS THEFT I AM SURE JOHN WOULD BE INTERESTED .

That's a damned low thing to do. The guys at BirdsRUs/Just Birds & Reptiles have helped me out on a quite a few occasions and they don't look like they are making squillions out of their business. To do it so quickly they must have cased the place a few times so I'm sure there would by CCTV footage of the perps. Hopefully the Macaw was microchipped and the thieves get caught when they try to sell it but only after it bites them.

Pretty sure its the same Blue and Gold that was in there a few weeks ago when I was there . Beautiful bird , talked well , socialised , happy and a picture of health ...One can only hope that whoever has it now is giving it all the attention and love that the owners at the shop gave it .
Damn they must feel sick with worry ... hope they catch the mongrels that took it but hope more they just get the bird back safely .
