Finches ... and Aircraft!

Im looking at buying a block of land and it seems to be directly in the flight path of Perth Airport (Guildford)
Who lives in such a situation and how do your birds go with the noise?
How do you go with the noise??
Its about 4 kms from the runway, slightly off the flightpath but not much!
I havent been to the site yet to check it out, I will decide for myself if its liveable for us, but moreso if anyone can help whether the finches would get disturbed too much and cause noticeable trouble.

I lived under the landing path of Richmond RAAF base and had budgies / Quarrion at the time .
No dramas that I can remember and they even breezed through a Russian Antonov flying so low you could see the pilots smiling faces .
Air shows with jets flying in formation low over us never bothered them either .
Only ever gave me a scare when something flew over very low late at night causing the windows to shake ... others reported smashed windows RAAF denied any planes flying over low

...
So my answer is they get used to it however the smell of aviation fuel was quite strong at times if they dumped near town , not sure if domestic aircraft do this though .
AND Im not talking about finches who might not be so forgiving when noisy planes fly over.

well with out giveing out to much info. I live directly under/ behind a dec runway where they re load water bombers that fly over very low, doesnt seem to bother the birds and we did have a lot of air traffic last summer..but they are not large passenger planes so it would be differant....pete

I lived under a flight path for a few months in Sydney many years ago. Personally I found it annoying, I remember one sunday counting something like 42 planes... Personally I wouldn't but that is just me. Having said that, Guildford is very pretty... Maybe spend the day hanging around and see what it is like?

I wouldn't worry too much. I live in Leichhardt, Sydney under the flight path. Doesn't worry the finches at all. They get used to it. It doesn't particularly worry me, except when you are watching telly and when the crunch line comes a damn planes comes over and you cant hear it.

.
The block is 1800m2 its the perfect farm block in the suburbs sky is the limit for aviary size, neighbours only on one side, small 3x1 house neawly renovated

Looks really nice, who wouldn't want to sit in that back room and look out over that view. Maybe you can try for a private viewing if you can fit it in before heading off....if you were still thinking about moving out there.

Im already up here in the bush, Ive been up here all week but was booked to fly home Last night. Boss changed his mind now Im here for another 10 days..
The house is a bit small but could be added onto in the future I guess, its close to where I live at the moment, but the land is perfect for us of course nothing to do with me building multiple aviaries!
I might get my flatmate to go have a look at the homeopen tomorrow, she could report back.....my main worry was the aircraft flying over.

If the flat mate takes photos or videos you still can get a good idea of what its like inside .
And yes got to have that large block . First priority if keeping birds ( me thinks ) especially the parrots .
