Only as a supplement...Doesn't replace the real thing.

Yes and they wouldn't touch it . If you just want a soft food try Mineral Energies soft food but if its the insect part you want then only other thing I can think of is real critters .

Have a mate that swear by it and he has a host of different species - he feeds it as a supplement not to replace anything live food wise but strongly recommends it.
Might need to persevere to get finches to take it - if no luck add in a Red-face they'd eat anything!!!
Use it myself and find it good value and a good supplement.

Haven't used the Wombaroo but use the vetafarm equivalent. I mix it with madeira cake and the birds take it just fine. Again, like everyone else it's as a supplement only.

pollard is better than bran as a medium, but if its going mouldy it has to much moisture in it, I have up to 1kg of mealies maybe 2 at times kept in the fridge, mine are kept in cotton bags or in a larger plastic container with no lid so the moisture doesn't build up. and once a week mainly sateurday / sunday I bring them out of the fridge to give them life and they last longer...
.I feed the soft food as suppliment but not all will take it. try it with some soaked seed in a small amount as not to waste it if they dont like it.Persistance is the key as fincho said the old red face will eat anything and helps to encourage others......pete

Ive tried both products mentioned and i havent bothered for the last 3 years. Ive tried lightly dusting lebanese cucumber, adding to mealworms with a few drops of water (just so it sticks to mealies) and various other methods. I think theyre great poducts but cant say i had greatly increased results by using them . I believe they should be used sparingly and theres no real substitute for fresh greens, seeds and livefood.

I`d be vary cautious feeding any mealies that come from mouldy bran, in fact i just wouldnt feed them out until you have that sorted, sorry but that sounds like an illness waiting to happen.
