Well today started out great , my first Blue Princess fledgling exploded out of the nest box , big , blue and beautiful .

Not so good by the time I got to the Quail , my first ever little fluff ball was dead .

So so stupid am I , I assumed the hen would feed it ( parrot brain ) and so didn't put extra seed on the ground . The hen usually hops up to the feed hopper to eat but the baby couldn't .

Well Ive been told now to think of them as little chooks and keep the food at ground level . What a way to learn

I thought some chick crumbles might help them get some size faster . Turkey mash will do fine . Thanks for that .

Oh I still have 2 hens on at least 14 eggs between them so hopefully I get a second chance .

Oh Pilot ..will the mash be good or bad for the other birds in the aviary ?
One is a Princess aviary the other is a Quarrion , the quail share with them.

Shouldn't be...its only higher in protein then other mash types as far as I can remember..some crude fats, calcium and other things which I can't remember...its the starter mash for turkey chicks
