At this stage i am not 100% sure these are the fish mentioned .... i will have a fish expert confirm what type these are ..... i was informed these are local fish and while there is no "native" guppy that will rid ponds of Mosquito there are plenty of mosquito eating fish these are just two I could consider.

Rainbowfish eat mosquitoes, ants and other small insects as well as algae and make an ideal pond fish.

Australian smelt are an excellent choice for much of south eastern Australia for mosquito control and have the added advantage that they are very frog/tadpole freindly.

Pacific Blue-eyes help control mosquitoes by feeding on the larvae & Frog friendly - does not generally eat tadpoles.

I think Aussie Smelt is the one for me.
Only the finches have been included at this stage :)

I keep Murray River Rainbow fish in an outdoor pond and they clean up mosquitoes. These are about the only temperate species of rainbow - most of the others are tropical from Northern Australia and New Guinea.

Consider Pygmy Perch too. Great little micro-predators by all accounts...
