There are Blue-caps and there are "Blue-caps". Like everything there is a variation in quality. What I'd like is some reccomendations on where to get quality bluecaps and what to expect to pay for them in the current market. Freight is no issue.

Not entirely on topic but blue caps tend to get more spectacular as they get older, ie bright ones will be older than duller ones. Just a point of interest

Graham Bull breeds them, and I would assume, given his love of selective breeding, they would quite nice specimens. Might be worth asking if he's got any coming up for sale soon?

Also chasing some in WA, you are right Danny there are quality Bluecaps and then there are low quality birds that IMO more than likely have Red Cheeked Cordon blood in them, size and form are 2 dead giveaways for this so inspect birds very carefully.

How is size and form a giveaway can you give us some tips from the keen eye?

Smaller and different overall shape, it's pretty obvious when comparing to pure bred birds, I was taken with the first pair I bought upon close inspection they were totally different to pure bred birds I'd seen.
