hi everyone,

i recently purchased a 1 kg bag of Mikes Soft Food from the Birds R Us stand at the singleton sale and it was only once i got home and looked at my other bag of soft food previously bought last yr.it was a totally different colour and the texture was different.

i thought i could have remembered something being written somewhere about mike not being affiliated with birds r us anymore but i cant recall. so im guessing that birds r us have started there own soft food?????? can anyone confirm? or tell me whats the go.

I had a bit in stock already so haven't bought any for a while so I cant say if any different. However I also heard about the parting of the ways, whether its true or not I don't know.

There may be a possibility that the new batch has been reverted back to the original mix and may be better than last years.

I would be surprised if mike has changed his formula...in his video he explains that a lot of time, money and research has gone into the ingredients and blend of his soft food mix....if it has changed (without notice) it looks like a lot of time, money and effort has been wasted.

I would be guessing that Birds R Us are currently offering their own blend...but why would they be marketing it under Mike's name.....something not right with this...

il take a pic later today of the 2 mixes and post on the forum. hmmm.....

i agree it must be very frustrating to have their products taken away from the supply chain as detailed in this link...however the comment regarding the ingredients being difficult to source and/or being very expensive leads me to believe that the ingredients is not the same............so i question if the new formula is as good as Mike's original blend....seems that another great product for our birds will be lost due to commercial interests....I'm starting to think that those occupy Melbourne/Sydney/New York, etc, etc protestors may actually be on to something

Maybe the new batch is back to the original formula and the previous one may have been slightly different from the original
