I can see customs will have to check your luggage very carefully. :silent: My guess with the pintails is the "pretty birds in an avairy" market is interested in cocks but not hens. It is only serious breeders who would bother with both.

Great trip, but nice to be home. Disneyland is well worth the trip. We spent 5 days all up in disneyland and we still kept finding rides we hadn't noticed. But I'll need to go on a diet now - every main course would feed a family of 10!

Ah these birds actually bred in the US or are they imports?

Not really sure - obvious question, I should have asked. I'd say many are imported - to me it seems incredible for that many whydahs to be bred locally (and then sold so cheaply).

I think it's just the photo. Most of the shots are just a small part of much higher resolution photos.

With the exception of the Diamond Firetail all the others were most likely wild trapped either in Africa or Sth America.
Some African species are actually trapped from wild introduced populations in Costa Rica(from memory)Hawaii etc.
Few African species are bred over there per breeder ratio.
