Aussie Finch Forum

Hi all,
firstly, interesting new layout to the forum... however the "nonspecific questions" part of the foreign finch section has disappeared, and the Australian finch subforums are sitting under the finch lounge.... I'm sure you admis already know that
anyway, since we haven't got a N-S-Q part of the foreign finch bit anymore and no jacarini subforum, is it normal for my male jacarini (2/3 coloured) to be chasing everything in sight? he's showing no signs of wanting to nest, and he hates the hen but if anything comes within a foot of him he's chasing it away and trying to pull it's head off. Should I take him out???

Jay, if you look at some of the previous forum response about jacs they are very very secretive. The behaviour you discuss sounds like he is protecting a nest somewhere. I only found a nest the other day for the same reason and althoug I saw the activity I could not fine it until this week when i found it by the sqeeaks. Double check or just sit back and observe.
