I would think anything that goes to the trouble of making itself bright yellow with red spots probably tastes pretty ordinary or is toxic - look at Mcdonalds - bright red and yellow

I know they love pumpkins and squash type plants . Made a mess of mine last year little buggers . But never had the wrens around hear have a go at them .
