We were taking a look at our birds this evening and caught em up to have a closer look.

Noticed this almost like pied colouring on his head with the white and red...

No doubt someone has seen it before?? Hahaha.
Is it just like a pied thing or what?? :o
Not sure if it's a good thing, also I'm not sure on the whole australian yellow and euro?? Can anyone tell from this which he is? I didn't really realise there were different yellows?? O_O

Any advice is most welcome! :D

That looks to me like it's pin feathers still colouring up from moult as the head is generally the last place to moult.

So the pin feathers will begin as white?? It's not just the waxy coating for the pin feathers, they're the actual feathers...

I'm so confused!

It still has some of its juveniles feathers on his face, the head is generally the last to molt, was it bred this yr?

should molt out in the next week or so.

Ive had a bird like that before. He was a late fledgling and didn't quite make all the colour on his head feathers in the first moult and as Misso said he stayed like that all year. The following year he moulted out to a full head colour. Your bird seem to have whiter feathers than mine did though.
