Fungi for finches??

Just finished a huge breakfast of eggs benny with mushrooms, spinach and hollandaise when I said " lucky I'm not a finch, all that spinach would cause problems with my calcium adsorption!"
Don't judge, it's still early for me, and I've only had one coffee. Plus, I'm generally insane.
Anyway, this lead my bird brained partner (in this case a compliment, she always has finches on the brain) to ask what mushrooms would be like as a food for finches? As one of those fussy vego types, I always have mushrooms, as I know how jam packed they are with goodness. For a while I've thought about getting my own little box of mushrooms growing in the pantry (have seen them at bunnings) and wondered if the finches might also partake of this?
Bit of an out there question, but I couldn't help but wonder what it may be like as a food source. Naturally, time for a new forum post!!!
