From memory, haven't had them for nearly 15 years, the cocks had a little more & deeper blue on the face, & think the female has a full wing stripe, & the male only has a partial wing stripe. Hope that helps

I didn't think you could, but the start of the first moult (6-8 weeks for Neophemas from memory) should start to show some colour, I could always sex Turqs by then as you were starting to get deeper face colour and a flash of colour in the wings. Pretty sure VR is on the money with the wing stripe too.

yes thats my thinking as 2 out of the 3 have a paler blue face than one.
Will have to take a look at the wing strip now. Its funny as I have been keeping neophemas for about 10 years now and never really bothered to take notice till now. The main reason being one of the clutches from last year have moulted out and all are hens 4 out of 4.. go figure.. pete

I had all hens too early in the season ... Luckily people here want whole clutches not just single birds . Thats how hard they are to get this year .
Accept that some days you are the pigeon, and some days you are the statue.

Pete and Deb, are your Scarlets all pure normals? I am looking for two hens and can't get any guaranteed pure wild genetic normals. The last pair that I got looked normal and all the produced were Red-fronteds and Sydney Blues.
