Going back through and reading up on diets for birds (as you do ) I wondered if my birds were getting enough of the orange vegies since carrot is not eaten by them .
They will eat baked sweet potato and pumpkin but theres never really a lot of these leftover (my fav).
So I had a crack at a carrot cake and liked the way it turned out , birds like it too

Just a madiera cake mix ( will br trying a butter cake mix next time ) , 4 carrots , 4 eggs ( no shells this time ) and milk (could use apple sauce if your worried about lactose ) ..

All done in the food processor , comes out a heavyish , orange slab of sorts ...very cheap and easy and hopefully packed with vitamins ...just sharing .

Had to google, the madiera cake, interesting. Carrot cake is good with some cream cheese icing! Interesting recipe, Jusdeb, back home, I used recipe that included carrots. In view of the fact, Bisquick, is not available in Australia, I modified the recipe to:
2 pc of whole grain toast
1 boiled egg (shell optional)
1/2 carrot
chunck of Sweet potatoe
4 heads of broccolli

Sometimes, nuke veggies, in microwave, mix with toast and egg, run through food processor, bake 180, til golden brown, run through food processor again, til course crumbs.
Sometime just run fresh veggies through food processor, then toast and eggs.
Am looking forward to be home and doing what I do. Bisquick, recipe also feeds 200 birds.

Here is photo of what I make with all fresh uncooked veggies, which I am feeding now.

I had a lot of fun with the Jiffy corn bread mix too , cost a small fortune as its not available on thr shelves here . Now that the flock has grown me thinks more about the $$$ involved in feeding them all .

Of course there no value if they dont eat it . Your mash looks good too Blujay .
