Hi Dan,

Just read through your posts for the first time.
Given the birds are in your garage with artificial lighting, are you slowly dimming the lights at night? If the lights are turned off suddenly (even if there's a small night light) then possibly this may be the issue. At lights out it could be that birds end up off the nest or cocks off the nest when hens should be on or some similar issue.

The birds in the avairy have 2 advantages. Choice of mate and more space. Now is the time to feed lots of greens.

Could be the ones in cabinets are overweight...not able to mate properly..where as the ones in avairy are getting correct excersise for the amount of food they digest...happens alot with parrot finches too.. :thumbup:

yes that was me, sorry for the late response i have been flat out with work. i am getting two more indoor averies the same as the one that i have to try and see if i have any luck with the ones in the Cabernet's and go from there.
