What is this finch called here.....

I have always called them Shafttail, and when I sell them, I get 300.00 a pair.

Hecks long tail, (red break so Hecks). About 50 a pair XP

Thanks, Jayburd, so they are called long tails here! They are a pretty bird, and the white colored ones even moreso. Birds are just lots of fun.

We also used to call them blackhearts when I was a kid in Melbourne, but longtails is definitely the more universal term used today in Australia, and as Jayburd has said these ones with the red bills are the Hecks longtails.

Thanks, Myzomela, they are a wonderful finch. Pictures don't reall show the kind of hues that they have.
