Its pretty cheap really.$20 a litre. You only need about 20ml per kg.I litre will do 50 kgs.I have only used less than 2 litres so far this winter.May not be as cheap as niger. But atleast every bird will get it on every seed it eats.
Heres where i get mine.I get the 5 litre. If you have a look around there is some bargins on this site.

Saturday 8th August update
$22 for 1 litre cod liver oil
Im going to give this a go too.
Do I just mix and serve or will it need to soak in for a while
How long can the seed be used for after the oil added, can it be frozen?

Dianne.I mix mine up and put straighyt in the auto feeders.it takes about 24hrs to be absorbed into the grain through the husk.but they will still get some while dehusking.mine can be left out for a few weeks.but would be better mixing up smaller amounts as needed.Fincher said he freezers seed in a diferent thread. So he might have more to add on that side of things.

Just the smell of it turns my stomach. I had a scarf wrapped around my nose and mouth when I did the seed yesterday!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who grew up on a spoonful a day.
