So the little one didn't make it , not surprised but disappointing .
Hen is doing a great job so far . So yesterday i noticed some mouse crap on top of the nest box and put a trap where the poop was ...6 mice :x So peeved .
Took a chance a kicked the hen out to have a look at things in the nest and all good , no sign of mice in there and the babies are growing and getting more fuzzy .

So now if she goes back in after having a feed and a stretch all will be right again .

8 days old, the critical period is from now to about another 10 days. Be very vigilant, check every afternoon, even with a torch if you forget and bring them in if she stops brooding.!

Im checking a few times a day and at night when the poochies have a pee , yep with a torch .
The chicks look to be a manageable size now and not so scary so if they have to come in I'm confident they will be OK .
Hoping that doesn't happen though
